Newton Pro Freezer – Built for Cold Chain

All the capabilities of Newton Pro, re-engineered for frozen and refrigerated environments. Operates reliably from −25°C to 0°C using cold-rated CR2450D batteries and sealed IP68 housing. Black-and-white only – colour e-ink pigments do not perform reliably at sub-zero temperatures, so SoluM uses a two-colour panel that maintains sharp contrast in the cold.

Colour e-ink pigments do not perform reliably at sub-zero temperatures. SoluM uses a two-colour (BW) panel for the Pro Freezer because it maintains sharp contrast and fast refresh rates in cold environments where colour panels would degrade or fail.
